The Grand Battle Re-enactment of 2002 was held in Fort Edward, New York on October 12th and 13th.

Over 3000 re-enactors participated in reliving the Battles of Saratoga on the 330 acre Pulver farm in Washington County.

The proportions of this event were staggering, as tens of thousands of spectators flocked to the scene also.

The most amazing aspect of this event was the effervescent spirit of those involved.

The re-enactors not only showed incredible dedication to detail but, in my eyes, became the embodiment of America's sturdy roots.

The efforts put forth by re-enactors and their local support personnell resulted in a superb event amongst the rolling hills of Washington County.

It was a great day in Fort Edward!
